Burma Mohdn ease past Janbaz Sports in Engro League

The 2012 All-Karachi Engro Vopak Football League, organised by FC Rovers (Malir Cantt) at Jam Stadium (Malir, Karachi), saw Burma Mohammadan (Korangi) hammer Janbaz Sports (DFA West) 5-0 in their Group A clash yesterday 3 Feb 2012.

The 5th game of the Engro Vopak League began with Burma Mohammadan dominating Janbaz Sports from the start. After 14 minutes, Burma’s Anees Ahmed was replaced by substitute striker Noor Alam because of an injury and immediatly had an impact on the game. Just a minute later, Noor Alam latched onto a M Imran pass and scored to make it 1-0 to Burma Mohammadan. In 24th minute, Saifullah’s pass found winger M Imran who lobbed the ball over Janbaz Sports’ goalkeeper Rafiullah to make it 2-0.

Janbaz Sports day went from bad to worse when goalkeeper Rafiullah was sent-off by referee Khalid Mumtaz Jimmi for a second yellow card for dissent with the officials just before half-time. In 2nd half, despite being down to 10 men, Janbaz Sports battled hard to reduce the deficit but Samiullah and Muhammad Shakir failed to trouble Burma Mohammadan’s international goalkeeper Abdul Ghani with their well-crafted efforts.

Burma Mohammadan then scored 3 more goals in last 7 minutes of the game to win 5-0 at the end. In 83rd minute, midfielder Jaffar Ullah’s pass found Noor Alam, who scored to make it 3-0 with his second goal of the match. Saifullah then made it 4-0 just 3 minutes later, before substitute striker Ayub Ali made it 5-0 in 89th minute.

Referees were Khalid Mumtaz Jimmi, Babar Khan, M Ishaq, 4th official Abdul Basit, match doctor Shahjahan Baloch, and match commissioner Abdul Karim. Burma Mohammadan’s Noor Alam was awarded the Rs 500 ‘Man of the Match’ cash prize by Fateh Muhammad Baloch (Vice-president of Sindh FA, president of DFA Malir), organising secretary Riaz Ahmed, DFA Malir secretary Shahid Taj, and Khalid Majeed.
