The 2012 All-Karachi Engro Vopak Football League saw Azam Sports (Drigh Road) come from behind to stun Sindh Muslim (Gizri) 2-1 in a closely fought encounter at Jam Stadium, Malir (Karachi) yesterday 26 Feb 2012.
Sindh Muslim went 1-0 up after 29 minutes when Muhammad Asif beat two players and scored against Azam Sports. In 2nd half, Azam Sports fought back hard as young striker Naveed Ullah scored twice, first from a Jehanzeb cross (49′) to equalise and then from a Wasim Ullah pass (55′) to make it 2-1.
The score remained the same till the end as Azam Sports completed a remarkable come back to win 2-1 in the end. Referees were Abdul Ghafoor, Imran Hussain, Shaukat Ali, Arif Hameed, and match commissioner Abdul Karim.
Naveed Ullah was given the Rs 500 cash award for Man of the Match by former international player Mama Muhammad Umar on behalf of FC Rovers (Malir Cantt) management.
The win left Azam Sports on 7 points from 4 games while Sindh Muslim have just 2 points from 5 games. On Tuesday, 28 Feb 2012, Young Tughlaq face Dilbod Mohammadan.
