The All-Karachi Engro Vopak Football League 2012 saw a breath taking encounter today 15 Feb 2012 at Jam Stadium, Malir (Karachi). Sindh Muslim (Gizri) threw away a sure shot 3-0 lead as Askani Brothers (Baldia Town) battled hard to draw level at 3-3 in the end to share the points.
Sindh Muslim started the game brightly as strikers Asif Bakhsh, M Nauman, Sohail Ullah Bakhsh, and Shaukat Ali out the Askani Brithers under pressure. Asif Bakhsh scored from a Shaukat Ali pass in 17th minute, and then scored from a rebound in 23rd minute as Sindh Muslim raced to a 2-0 lead. M Nauman then made it 3-0 in 26th minute by scoring from a Sohail Ullah Bakhsh cross. The match looked to be a rout against Askani Brothers but they ralled hard to pull one back as Asghar Ali scored from a Noor Hussain cross in 31st minute as the score read 3-1 by half-time.
Askani Brothers gained confidence in 2nd half as they laid seige to Sindh Muslim’s goal. Zubair Angara made it 3-2 in 55th minute from a killer pass by captain Bahadur Ali. Noor Hussain then completed the stunning comeback when he scored from a pass by Imam Bakhsh to make it 3-3 in 63rd minute. The remained minutes of the game failed to produce any more goals as it finished 3-3 in the end with both sides sharing a point each.
The result saw completion of 3 games for both Askani Brothers and Sindh Muslim, with Askani Brothers on 3 points while Sindh Muslim on 2 points. Sindh Muslim’s Asif Bakhsh won the Rs 500 Man of the Match award from ex-national player and current Askani Brothers coach Usman Baloch.
Referees were M Umar, Babar Khan, Imran Hussain, and match commissioner Abdul Karim. On Friday, 17 Feb 2012, Dilbod Mohammadan face Burma Mohammadan.
