Jubilee regain Beaconhouse Inter-Region O-Levels title

The Beaconhouse Inter-Region O-Levels Boys Football Championship finished today 31 January 2012 with Beaconhouse Jubilee campus recording a 2-1 final win over Beaconhouse Defence campus. The final was played at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground in Garden West, Karachi.

BSS Jubilee had previously beaten BSS Gulshan United, while BSS Defence had overcome BSS PECHS in the semi-finals. BSS Jubilee went 1-0 up at half-time thanks to a goal from captain Daniyal Rehman. In 2nd half, BSS Defence could only respond through Adil as BSS Jubilee’s Ubaid ur Rehman made it 2-1 as BSS Jubilee successfully defended their title at the final whistle.

The previous 3rd position game saw BSS Gulshan United hammer BSS PECHS 5-1. Gulshan United’s Saad Farooq scored all 5 goals for his side, while only Afan Siddiqui could score for BSS PECHS. Referees were Habibullah, Riaz Ahmed, Babar Khan, and match commissioner Abdul Ghani.

BSS Jubilee was presented with winners’ trophy from its principal Mrs Shahmaz Darah, with BSS Defence and BSS Gulshan United collecting their respective position trophies. BSS Gulshan United’s Saad Farooq was given top scorer award, while BSS Jubilee’s Daniyal Rehman was given Best Player award. Also present were Mrs Afshan Zuberi, Mehdi Ali, BSS Regional Cooridnator Zulfiqar Ahmed, head coach Ahsan Raza, Abdul Ghani, M Tufail, sports journalist Riaz Ahmed.

Young Muslim beat Khuzdar FC in Nawabshah tournament

The All-Pakistan Shakeel Ahmed Warraich Football Tournament, hosted by Al-Shabaz FC (Nawabshah) at Police Ground in Nawabshah (Shaheed Benazirabad), saw Young Muslim (Orangi Town – Karachi) battle hard to beat Khuzdar FC 1-0 and qualify for next round.

Young Muslim’s Akhtar Faiz scored the match’s lone goal in 2nd half as his side held out tough opponents Khuzdar. Young Muslim’s defenders Aziz and Sajjad stopped many Khuzdar attacks superbly. Young Muslim now face hosts Al-Shabaz (Nawabshah) in next round.

Referees were M Iqbal Jr., Anser Javed, and Abdul Karim. Young Muslim’s squad comprised of captain Arshad Ali, Aziz Ahmed, Abu Bakr, Sajjad, Rasheed, Amin, Saeed, Zubair, Rashid, Lala, Atiq, Shoaib, M Zahoor, Qurban, Sagheer Ahmed, Khalil Khan, Haider Ali, and Ghulam Nabi. Manager is Pervaiz Qasu and coaches Zakir Khan and M Yousaf.
