Baloch Youth overwhelm Shazad Mohdn. in KUFL

The 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League 2011-12 saw two results Baloch Youth (Garden) beat Shazad Mohammadan (Landhi) 3-1 to attain top spot in Group ‘A’. Later in the day, power failure caused the match between Mauripur Baloch and Burma Mohammadan (Korangi) to be abandoned with 20 minutes left with Burma Mohdn leading 2-0 by then.

The Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi witnessed two intriguing encounters yesterday 16 January 2012. The first game saw Baloch Youth completely dominate former KUFL champions Shazad Mohammedan from the start. A 3rd minute cross from right-back Talal Ayub found Aaqib Ayub, who finished with style to make Baloch Youth go 1-0 up. Saramad Jaffar then made it 2-0 in 34th minute when he latched on to a Ali Sabir pass from midfield to score. Shazad Mohammedan managed to respond when Fazal Baloch scored from a rebound effort 5 minutes later to make it 2-1.

In 2nd half, the match pace intensified with Baloch Youth looking for the kill, only to be denied time and again by Shazad Mohammedan goalkeeper Naveed Baloch, but eventually Saramad Jaffar’s pass found Essa Lashari on the right, as he sped forward and smashed in the goal to make it 3-1 in 62nd minute. The goal more or less decided the game as Baloch Youth won 3 precious points to be on 13 points from 5 games to top Group ‘A’, with Shazad Mohammadan struggling at 7 points from 6 games.

Another Group ‘A’ game later at night saw Burma Mohammadan race to a 2-0 lead against Mauripur Baloch with goals from M Imran (23′) and Noor Ahmed (48′), but a power failure causing floodlights to be turned off forced the match to be abandoned with 20 minutes still left in the game.

Referees were Babar Khan, Shaukat Ali, Ch. Sarfraz, and match commissioner Abdul Karim.
