The 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League 2011-12 (KUFL) saw tournament host Karachi United (KU) FC thrilling win over Al-Shabaz (Korangi) 2-1 in Group “B” while Baloch Mujahid (Ibrahim Hydri) thrashed Drigh Road Union in the same margin (2-1) in another game in Group “B” at Baloch Mujahid Stadium, Ibrahim Hydri here on Friday evening.
The 50th game of current event KUFL season saw host side Karachi United comprehensively dominate Al-shabaz from the start. Karachi United strikers Rehan Munir, Karim Kerai, Taha Rahman and Athar Qadri put the opposition to the sward as they scored 2 goals in first half. Karim Kerai netted the ball from a 25 meter distance directly on free kick in the 17th minute while Rehan Munir doubled the lead in 42 minute when Taha Rehman powerful kick sent back after striking the cross bar. Rehan Munir standing on the right position collected the ball and went at home.
Karachi United FC 2-0 up at lemon time.
In the 2nd half both the teams played well. particularly last 10 minutes. Al-Shabaz reduced the margin 80th minute through Mohammad Rafiq from a corner kick taken by Akhtar Rasheed. Substitute striker Taha Ali Zai of KU missed sure chance in the 85th minute when Rehan Munir provide a golden opportunity in the goal area. Akhtar Rasheed lost the chance for levelling the score when his kick struck the cross bar and cross the goal line in the dying moment (90+2) minute.
KU maintained their 2-1 lead at full time and to bag 3 points.
In the other game played earlier in the day . Baloch Mujahid thrilling win over Drigh Road Union 2-1. Salal Raza took the lead in 32 minute for Baloch Mujahid . Drigh Road Union levelled the score in 86 minute through Rizwan Chiragh by a free kick.
Taj Mohammad decisive goal scored in the 89th minute for the winner when Midfielder Umer Bakhsh drive to rebound by the Goal Keeper Mohammad Jahangir.
Referees Khalid Mumtaz, Babar Khan, Abdul Wahid, Asad Mahmood whiel Abdul Karim was the Match Commisioner.
Irfan Memorial Landhi will face Baloch Mohammedan Malir on 18.12.2011 (Sunday) at Korangi Baloch Stadium Sharafi.
