KGS, Nixor enter KUSC quarter-finals

Staying on the path of victory, Karachi Grammar School and Nixor College second consecutive wins and achieved 6 points when they beat Foundation Public School (2-1) and Army Public School (5-1) in the ongoing 7th HBL Karachi United School Championship and moved into Quarter Final at Baloch Mujahid Football Stadium, Ibrahim Hydri here on Friday.

In the Group ‘A’ matches Defending Champion Karachi Grammar School scoring two goals in each half beat Foundation Public School 2-1. Adeel Sohail took the lead to FPS in the 17th minute which is not maintained and Afshad Wania levelled the score in 28th minute. Decisive goal scored by Captain Shazer Razi on penalty kick awarded by Referee Babar Khan in 38th minute for the winners.

In another Group ‘A’ encounter proved to bring easy victory to Nixor College against Army Public School (APS) 5-1. Star striker Karim Kerai got his school ahead in the 5th minute. Nixor 1-0 up at half time.

In the second half five more goals scored. Four by Nixor College and one by APS. Muneeb Tabani two goals (48th & 56th), Reyyan Pervez 40th and Talha Javed 59th for Nixor College while Momen Amer lone goal in 42nd minute for looser.

In Group ‘B’ match of the day, Southshore edge past Beaconhouse Jubilee 1-0 and to bag three points. The loan goal of the game scored by Star striker Shazeb Khan taken a free kick from 35 yards distance and no chance to opponent goal keeper Daniyal Kashif to save it.
