The 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League 2011-12 saw a stunning group ‘A’ clash between Kalri Star (Lyari) and FC Rovers (Malir Cantt.) yesterday 15th November 2011 at Trans Lyari Football Stadium, Old Golimar. Kalri Star registered 3-0 win over FC Rovers which was first win after 3 drawn and one lost game in current event.
The 49th match of current KUFL season saw Kalri Star race to a 1-0 lead before half time against FC Rovers. Striker Mohammad Lal scored in 33rd minute by a header.
Then in the second half Tanvir Ahmed 20 meter shot sailed past FC Rovers Goal Keeper Abdul Hameed as Kalri Star 2-0 up in the 48th minute. 3rd and final goal of the match appeared in the 65th minute when Javed Ibrahim provide a beautiful pass to Abdul Basit on goal mouth. Abdul Basit no mistake to ball at home and made it 3-0.
FC Rovers players Irfan Junejo, Raadus Salam, Areeb Zaidi, Waqar Hussain and Hamza Shahid struggled to reduce the margin but their efforts could not bear fruit. In the last of 10 minutes FC Rovers developed immense pressure to the opponent and their strikers missed minimum 4 sure chances in one to one position.
The result gave Kalri Star 7 points from 5 games and FC Rovers 9 points from 7 games.
Referees Mohammad Rizwan supervised the match while Abdul Malik and Imran Ali assisted him on the line. Mr. Abdul Karim as Match Commissioner.
