Korangi Baloch maintain Group ‘B’ top spot in KUFL

Korangi Baloch (Sharafi) maintained their fine form in the 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League 2011-12 as they trounced Baloch Mohammadan (Malir) 4-2 to keep top spot in Group ‘B’ with 13 points from 6 games.

The 36th game of current KUFL season saw home side Korangi Baloch comprehensively dominate Baloch Mohammadan from the start. KB strikers Abdul Hafeez, Aqeel Baloch, Abdul Jabbar Jr., Amjad Baloch put the opposition to the sword as they scored 3 goals in 29 first half minutes. Aqeel Ahmed scored from a Abdul Hafeez cross after just 9 minutes, Abdul Hafeez then scored twice in 22nd (from a Abdul Jabbar Jr. pass) and 29th minutes (from a Zain-ul-Abideen pass) to make it 3-0 for Korangi Baloch.

However, Baloch Mohammadan pulled one back just before half-time when ex-international Naseem Akhtar scored from a Roshan Aziz pass in 40th minute. In 2nd half, Korangi Baloch maintained pressure on the opposition hoping to increase their lead while Baloch Mohammadan tried to dig deep and stem the onslaught. But Naseem Akhtar struck in 60th minute to make it 3-2, giving Baloch Mohammadan a life to come back. But Korangi Baloch made it 4-2 in 69th minute through substitute striker Asghar Ali, having just come on the field 5 minutes prior to scoring.

Baloch Mohammadan attempted to get back in the game in final minutes, but Korangi Baloch defence of Abdul Wahid, Asif Hakeem, and goalkeeper Rustam Baloch were up to task deny the opposition each time as the game finished 4-2. Korangi Baloch remained in top place in Group ‘B’ while Baloch Mohammadan were strugging with just 7 points from 5 games. Referees were Aziz Pasha, Javed Bangash, and Saeed Alam.
