Burma Mohammadan vs Shazad Mohammadan

The match began with frantic action as Burma Mohammadan’s attacking mentality clearly took Shazad Mohammadan by surprise in opening minutes. It wasn’t long before Burma Mohammadan took the lead as a 9th minute cross from right winger Muhammad Imran was put into the back of the net from front runner Abdur Rahim to give the Korangi side a 1-0 lead. The scoreline remained same at half time, with Shazad Mohammadan shaken in face of a confident and bold opposition.

In 2nd half, the game opened up even further as a good crowd in the Korangi Baloch Stadium witnessed an action packed tempo by both sides. But Burma Mohammadan were looking for the kill and in 52nd minute, Rais Ahmed beat two Shazad players and teed up Abdur Rahim to slam in his, and the Korangi side’s 2nd goal of the game as Burma Mohammadan looked set at 2-0. The widening deficit clearly disheartened Shazad Mohammadan but their strikers M Hussain, M Baloch, Adil Khan, and M Younas did attempt to reduce it. However, Burman Mohammadan’s ex-international goalkeeper Abdul Ghani denied the opposition any chance to score past him in the remaining minutes of the game as his side prevailed 2-0 at the end to record another 3 points.

Referees were Iqrar Hussain, Saeed Khan, Aziz Pasha, and match commissioner Saleem Arif. The win helped Burma Mohammadan climb to top of KUFL Group ‘A’ rankings with 6 points from 2 games, while Shazad Mohammadan remained with just 1 point from as many games. This was the final match of KUFL before the Eid-ul-Azha 2011 break that will end on 12 Nov, with matches re-commencing on 13 Nov onwards.
