ISLAMABAD – Gilgit Markhores defeated Gilgit Tigers 5-3 on shoot-out in the final of the Gilgit Youth Football School Championship on Monday at the City Park Football Ground, Gilgit.
According to information received here, eight youth teams from different schools of Gilgit-Baltistan participated in the 10-day event. Before the final, third position match was played between Basin River and Kashrot Wadi which Basin won 1-0. The only goal was scored by Imtiaz on a penalty.
Raja Nasir, Director Education distributed the prizes among the teams and players who expressed their gratitude to Pakistan Football Federation, Australian Government and Gilgit-Baltistan FA for holding this event which will help in reviving the game of football in this region.
