Karachi Football Round-Up

The Karachi District South Football Championship saw the results of 2 games at the Lyari Football Stadium opposite Lyari General Hospital. Friends Union beat Rangiwarah Sports 3-0 while Kalri Mohammadan beat Swat Sports 3-1 to enter the next round.

Friends Union completely dominated Rangiwarah Sports from the start as goals from Bilal, Fahim, and Aneeq Pervez helped them to a resounding 3-0 win. The next game saw Kalri Mohammadan also manage a one-sided win over Swat Sports. Goals from Kashan, Riaz Kara, and Usman scored for Kalri Mohammadan, while Wahid scored Swat Sports’ only goal as the winners registered a 3-1 win.

Referees were Younas Lal, Khaliq, and Fareed Ahmed. On Thursday (27 Oct 2011), Sindh Baloch face Young Hilal.

Azam Sports (Drigh Road), Shazad Mohammadan (Malir), and Mauripur Baloch all qualified for the quarter-finals of the All-Karachi Founders of Baloch Mujahid Memorial Football Cup after winning their respective games at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi.

Azam Sports overcame Dilbod Mohammadan (Malir) 3-1. The match was evenly poised at half time 1-1 with Ghani scoring for Dilbod after 25 minutes before Aqeel Khan equalised for Azam Sports in 40th minute. In 2nd half, Saleem Ullah scored twice for Azam Sports (47′, 61′) as they overcame Dilbod Mohammadan at the end. Shazad Mohammadan managed to pip Bilal Friends (Landhi) 2-1 after going 0-1 down to an own goal. Muhammad Adil then scored twice for Shazad Mohammadan in 43rd and 53rd minutes as they overturned the deficit to win 2-1 at the end.

In a repeat of the 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11 final held at same venue, Baloch Youth (Garden) faced Mauripur Baloch. However, Mauripur Baloch took revenge for their KFL final loss when they overwhelmed Baloch Youth 3-1. Adnan Sakhi gave Mauripur the lead after 17 minutes before Ghulam Farooq equalised for Baloch Youth just before half time, making the score 1-1. In 2nd half, Sajjad Kaka gave Mauripur Baloch a stunning 2-1 lead soon after restart and Adnan Sakhi scored his second of the game making it 3-1 in 55th minute as Mauripur Baloch ran away deserving winners at the end.
