Karachi: The Aga Khan University (AKU) Sports Centre is organizing its 7th AKU Inter-University Futsal Tournament from Monday, October 03, 2011 at the AKU Sports Centre. The matches will be played in the Futsal Court on a hard surface under flood lights. Eleven Teams representing Institutions/Universities of Karachi are participating. The teams have been divided in four pools and the tournament round matches will be played on league basis. The tournament will progress through group stages to quarters, semi’s and final.
Faisal Iqbal (NBP), Vice Captain, Pakistan Football Team will formally inaugurate the tournament at 6:00 pm.
Pool A: Institute of Business Management (IoBM), NUST University (NUST) and Institute of Business Administration (IBA).
Pool B: Greenwich University (GU), Aga Khan University (AKU) ‘Green’ Team and Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC).
Pool C: Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology (SZABIST), Ziauddin Medical University (ZMU) and Aga Khan University (AKU) ‘White’ Team.
Pool D: Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) and Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS).
On the opening day, Monday, October 03, 2011, five matches will be played. AKU-Green Vs. PNEC (6:00 pm), MAJU Vs DUHS (6:30 pm), IBA Vs IoBM (7:00 pm), AKU-White Vs ZMU (7:30 pm) and IBA Vs. NUST (8:00 pm)
