PPL 2011 returns tomorrow after Ramazan-Eid break

The second phase of 8th Pakistan Premier Football League-2011 (PPFL) featuring 12 departmental and 4 clubs teams is resuming on Thursday September 15, 2011.

According to the press release issued here today by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), September 15th matches will see KPT taking on Baloch FC at the KPT Football Stadium, Karachi while PIA face Muslim FC at the Peoples Football Stadium, Karachi. The marathon of 240 match event, whose 70 matches have already been played, will decide the 8th Pakistan Premier Football Leaugue-2011.

The venues approved for holding matches of second phase of PPFL in Karachi comprise Peoples Football Stadium that will host 21 matches, KPT Football Stadium 17 matches, Sadiq Shaheed Stadium, Quetta will host 31 matches, Noushki Football Stadium, Noushki will host 2 matches, Government High School, Chaman will host 7 matches, Agriculture University Faisalabad will host 30 Matches and Municipal Stadium, Rawalpindi will host 45 matches.

The 16 teams taking part in the marathon event, to go on till December 28, 2011 comprising Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Karachi Electric Supply Corporation, Army, Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Afhan FC, Navy, Pak Electron Company (PEL), Baloch FC, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Habib Bank Limited (HBL), PMC Club Athletico Faisalabad (PMC Ath FC), Police and Muslim Fc.

It is pertinent to mention that WAPDA has won the Premier League four times, Army won two times and KRL one time. Each team will play 30 matches on home & away basis. Each match has a match bonus of Pak Rs.30, 000/- and the prize money of the first position is Rs. 7, 00,000/- (Rupees Seven Lac), Rs. 5, 00,000/- for runner-up and Rs. 4, 00, 000/- for third position. Rs. 1, 00,000/- (Rupees One Lac) for best goalkeeper, Rs. 1, 00,000/- (Rupees One Lac) for best Match Commissioner, Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lac ) for Best Referee and Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) for Assistant Referee
