GSA D-Goal: 3 teams advance in 2 days action

On 9th August Tuesday two matches were scheduled to take place, but due to unforeseen circumstances the match between NUFC and Raju Star from Garden could not take place. Therefore the rescheduling of the NUFC match will be announced later.

Still there was one fixture and it was certainly a fire cracker. The experienced Jahangir Memorial side took on Gunners FC (Also known as Samir Stars). Mohammad Alam of Jahangir stunned the crowd as the KPT player scored within the first minute. This certainly shocked the young Balochs of Gunners FC but they showed real class and quality as Aqib Baloch equalized before Mohammad Yousuf gave his side the lead and it was 3-1 in the second half. Tanveer Ahmed of Jahangir made it 3-2 but a fourth by the Gunners and a second by Mohammad Yousuf made the final score line 4-2.

On 10th August Wednesday, we were scheduled to have two matches and an unexpected guest made an entry. GEO Super Crew stormed onto the court and provided the tournament plenty of TV coverage and  hype. The little showcase can be watched on GEO Super in the new show airing @ 12 AM daily. Also despite heavy rain the GSA management and crew worked relentlessly to keep the surface as dry as possible and make it easy for the players.

In the first match Majid Shaheed Greens took on Sindh Balochistan boasting talents such as former depart Hashmat Khan of Pakistan Steel Mills, and current Starlet of Karachi Jamal Khan of KPT. The youngsters of Majid Shaheed Greens were down to a quick fire brace from Jamal and the first half finished at 2-0. In the second half the Greens were all out to attack but Raheel Baloch of Sindh Balochistan struck a third and despite two late goals by Amir Jaan and Muhammad Omer for the Greens, Sindh Balochistan were 5-2 winners.

In the second fixture, Majid Shaheed Reds (First Ever Wiinners) took on African giants Five Star United. The match was a an exciting contest. A Double from KESC youngster Muhammad Bin Younis helped the reds to a two  goal lead which was cut in half by Ali Coke of Five Stars. In the second it was end to end stuff but the brilliant Muhammad completed his hat-trick and despite a second from Ali Coke, the match ended 4-2 in the favor of the Reds.
