SSB U14 Football gets underway in Karachi

The Sindh Sports Board UNDER-14 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2011 began at National Soccer Academy Ground  in Paposh, Karachi with result of two games held on Saturday 16 July 2011.

Chief guest Shoaib Siddiqui inaugurating SSB U14 Football Tournament

National Soccer Academy defeated FC Rovers (Malir) Academy 4-0 in inaugural match of Group ‘A’. Noman Tahir (2) scored in 10th and 37th minutes while M.Ubaid (20′), Sameer Lasi (33′) also scored for for the winners. In Group ‘B’, National Frontier Academy (Banaras) beat Gulshan Soccer Academy 1-0. Decisive goal scored by Salman Khan in 18th minute. Both winning teams earned 3 points each.

Referees were Babar Khan and Farrukh Riaz, while match commissioner was Abdul Karim (DFA Central).

Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh was the Chief Guest on the occasion of the NSA vs Rovers game and he inaugurated the tournament by kicking the ball. Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of Organising Secretary Riaz Ahmed and his team for the promotion of football, particularly youth, in Karachi DFA Central. He also stated that such tournaments will also help footballers all across Pakistan if they are organised with complete dedication of organisers and support from local authorities.

The chief guest also praised NSA’s two young players for their superb skill and ball control against FC Rovers Academy in 7 year old Saad Ullah and 9 year old Shams Taj. He announced a Rs 5,000 cash prize to each of the players for their performance and encouraged them to work hard and become model footballers in near future.

Mr. Shah Riaz Uddin (Coordinator SSB), Raziq H. Rabbani (Consultant), Mushtaq Ahmed ADO, Rahim Bakhsh (Secretary DFA West), Syed Usman Shah (Vice President DFA East), international M. Saleem Patni, Mohammad Shamim (both Vice Presidents DFA Central), Ahmed Ali Rajpoot (Secretary Sindh Olympic Association) Mohammad Ahmed Khan, Khalid Majeed, Salim Arif, Karachi female footballer Fahmeeda Jamil, NSA head coach and chairman Arshad Jamal, sports organiser M. Ahmed Khan et al. were also present on the occasion.

6 teams are taking part in this tournament dividing into two groups, top two teams of each group qualify for semi final.
