The Sindh Sports Board U14 Football Championship being held at National Soccer Academy Ground in Paposh, Karachi saw hosts National Soccer Academy (NSA) top Group ‘A’ after a resounding 6-0 win over The City School (North Nazimabad). NSA’s young striker Noman Tahir scored a superb hat-trick with goals in 17th, 19th, and 26th minutes; this was the first hat-trick of the event. Shabbir Ullah scored twice (31′ and 37′) awhile Jehanzeb scored once in 41st minute to see NSA complete overwhelm their opponents.
In Group ‘B’, Al-Shabaz Korangi beat Gulshan Soccer Academy 2-1 to inflict Gulshan’s 2nd successive defeat and knock them out of contention for next round. Al-Shabaz young goalkeeper Abdul Haq showed a superb display in the game as he kept out GSA’s many attempts at goal. Youth international Muhammad Younus had given Al-Shabaz a 1-0 lead at half time after an 8th minute strike from a great ball from Muhammad Awais. In 2nd half, a 25 yard screamer from Muhammad Anwar past GSA goalie Zeeshan saw Al-Shabaz double their lead. However, GSA showed resilience throughout the game yet they could only get a late consolation from Abdul Hanan as they bowed out of the tournament with this 2-1 defeat. Al-Shabaz now face National Frontier Academy to decide who tops the group after NFA had beaten GSA 1-0 in previous group game.
Referees were Babar Khan and Farrukh Riaz, while match commissioner was Abdul Karim.
