NSA win SSB U14 Football Final

The Sindh Sports Board U14 Football Cup was won by hosts National Soccer Academy after they beat Al-Shabaz Academy (Korangi) 2-0 in the final with goals from Shabbir Ullah (13′) and Faraz (34′). FC Rovers Academy (Malir) had previously beaten National Frontier Academy 1-0 with a goal from Hassan Raza to win 3rd place. Both games were played at National Soccer Academy Ground in Paposh, Karachi.

The final was attended by chief guests Mr Matanat Ali Khan (Deputy Commissioner, Karachi Dist. Central) and U.F. Tariq Lutfi (Pakistan national team and KRL head coach) who presided over the awards ceremony and presented prizes to the top 3 teams. Both of them praised Sindh Sports Board and organising secretary Riaz Ahmed for organising the tournament in superb fashion, and hoped such tournaments will help discover future talent for the Pakistan national youth and senior teams.

Mr Matanat Ali Khan also stated that sport is the backbone for maintaining peace and prosperity in a society where people of all ages can take part in a friendly environment and learn to appreciate discipline and fair play. He vowed to help all sporting activities in his district to ensure the well-being of the community.

Matanat Ali Khan also announced the holding of an All-Karachi Deputy Commissioner Central Invitational Football Cup from September onwards featuring 64 teams from across Karachi. Also present at the occasion was Shah Riaz Uddin, Coordinator of Sindh Sports Board, who also praised the success of the U14 cup and announced that an All-Sindh U16 Cup will also be organised by SSB.

Syed Usman Shah, Vice-president DFA East, presented Rs 2000 each to the two finalist teams as well as giving Rs 1000 to the best player as well as giving Rs 500 each to players Saad Ullah and Shams Khan for displaying good skill. Rovers Academy star Hassan Adil Sheikh was declared Emerging Player.

Other Special Guests were Mr. Raziq H. Rabbani, Consultant SSB, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, ADO Dist. Central, Mr. Ayaz Butt, Director Sports KRL, International Saleem Patni, M. Shamim, Adam Jan (Vice Presidents DFA Central), Syed Usman Shah, Vice President DFA East,  Mr. Gulab Baloch, President, DFA South, Arshad Jamal, Head Coach National Soccer Academy, Mr. Ramis Ali, Sectetarty Ten Pin Bowling Association Sindh, Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Consultant Sports, National Bank of Pakistan, Organising Secretary Riaz Ahmed, Khalid Majeed, Abdul Karim were also present on the occasion.
