Karachi Football Round-up

  The Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi, Karachi witnessed 4 more matches of the All-Karachi Korangi Baloch Challenge Cup. According to media coordinator Khalid Majeed, Hunter Sports (Malir) beat Sarhad Sports (Malir) 4-1 with goals from Salim Baloch (2), Ghulam Akbar, and Rashid for winners while Awais managed one for losing side. Jalandhar Sports (Malir) beat Young Boys (Malir) 4-3 on penalties after a 0-0 score at end of normal tume. Salaar Welfare Centre (Malir) beat Allahdad Mohammadan (Malir) 3-1 with goals from Sheraz, M Sharif and M Asif while M Hanif managed one for losing side.

Sharafi Mohammadan (Malir) beat Malir Union 2-0 with goals from M Ismail and Elahi Bakhsh. Baloch Mohammadan (Malir) and Young Jamal (Landhi) tied 1-1 at end of normal time followed by an amazing 11-11 tie in penalty shoot-out, forcing a rematch between the sides. Baloch Mohammadan’s Nasim Ahmed scored in 38th minute while Young Jamal’s Ashraf equalised in 47th minute. Referees were Abdul Latif, M Umar, M Rustam, Shafi Muhammad, Iqrar Hussain, with match commissioner Rafique Baloch.

The All-Karachi Founders of Baloch Mujahid Cup saw results of 2 games at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. Lyari Brothers beat Malir Union 2-0 with goals from Shezad Ahmed in 9th and 40th minutes. Jalal Murad (Malir) beat Jamil Shaheed FC (Young Gulistan) 4-3 on penalties after 0-0 draw. Referees were Iqrar Hussain, Salim Raja, Ch. Sarfraz, and match commissioner was Najib Ahmed Baloch. More matches will be played from 10 July.

Ali Bahar Brohi, executive member of PFF, and vice presidents of Sindh FA M Iqbal (Mirpur Khas), Mir Yaqoob Ali Shah (Sukkur), Fateh Muhammad Baloch (Karachi), Sindh FA secretary Jan Muhammad Baloch, and various officials from DFA Central, DFA West, DFA South, DFA Malir, and Baloch Mujahid FC all praised FC Rovers and Riaz Ahmed for successful organisation of the All-Karachi Engro Vopak Invitational Football Cup that was won by Baloch Mujahid recently. They hoped that further tournaments and steps will be taken to ensure the progress of football in Karachi.
