Bangladesh hammer Pakistan 3-0 in the rain

Bangladesh vs Pakistan - rain in Dhaka!

Dhaka, June 29: Bangladesh beat Pakistan 3-0 in the first leg of the pre-World Cup qualifier against Pakistan at the Bangbandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.

In a water logged pitch due to the incessant rain Emily scored in the very 1st minute and midfielder Zahid doubled the margin in the 22nd minute.

Pakistan custodian Jaffar Khan had no clue what went wrong in the very first minute when forward Emily’s header off a Monaem Khan Raju cross slipped through his gloves after landing in the muddy pitch (1-0).

Jaffar Khan was the defaulter again in the 22nd minute when he lost the vision of a grounder of midfielder Zahid Hossain from the top of the box and the ball flew past Jaffar who did not react (2-0).

Defender Rezaul Karim sealed the fate of the match in the 56th minute as substitute forward Mithun Chowdhury paved the way with a nice chip and Reza coolly placed the ball in the far post of Jaffar.

Bangladesh fly to Pakistan on Thursday to play the second leg at Lahore on July 3rd .
