The 6th Saqib Kazmi Memorial Floodlit Football Tournament being held at Colony Star FC Ground in North Karachi saw Manghopir XI beat Bashir XI (North Karachi) 4-0 to qualify for quarter-final stage.
The match was attended by Salman Kazmi, younger brother of late Saqib Kazmi and Director of Kazmi Enterprises, as chief guest who also met both teams and gave a Rs 5000 cash donation for tournament organising committee. Other guests were tournament organising secretary Saad Kazmi, Umar Farooq, journalist Riaz Ahmed, Abdul Karim member Central Zone, FIFA referee Babar Khan et al.
Majid Baloch scored twice in first half to give Manghopir XI a 2-0 lead and then completed his hat-trick – the first for the tournament – in 2nd half while Faisal Baloch made it 4-0 just before the end of match. Match referee was Farrukh Riaz with assistans Fareed Ahmed and Abdul Wahab, while match commissioner was Khalid Majeed.
