Bay View High School won the Pakistan School Olympics football final after they beat The City School – PAF Chapter 6-5 on penalties after 0-0 tie at end of alloted time. This was Bay View High’s 4th consecutive tournament final under head coach Arshad Jamal of Karachi United FC.

Bay View High had previously won the Foundation Public School ‘O-Level’ Football Tournament at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi after beaing Habib Public School in final, as well as winning the Inter-School Football Tournament for both Girls and Boys at DHA Ground previously. Arshad Jamal had previously coached Lyceum School to similar success with 4 tournament wins in one year, including the prestigious 5th Karachi United Schools Championship when they beat 4 time winners Karachi Grammer School 3-2 in final.

The Bay View High School, Defence administration congratulated their football team and coach Arshad Jamal, and expressed their confidence in Arshad Jamal’s leadership and coaching capabilities with youth players.

The 6th All Sindh-Balochistan Ada Sher Muhammad Memorial Football Tournament 2011 will continue from 15th May after installation of floodlights at Pak Baloch Football Ground in Garden West, Karachi. Kalri Star (Lyari) and Sindh Balochistan (Zone West) will re-start the much delayed tournament after the inauguration of new floodlights by Dr Abdul Hameed Baloch, vince chairman of Zone West FA Karachi, as chief guest according to organising secretary Maula Bakhsh Baloch.

The 6th Saqib Kazmi Memorial Floodlit Football Tournament 2011 being hosted by Colony Star (North Karachi) saw Orangi Star beat Abdul Malik Khan Memorial FC (Central Zone) in a closely contested 2-0 affair to qualify for quarter-finals. Arif Khan and Asmat Khan scored in 1st half to give Orangi Star the win at the end. However, a tremendous fight shown by Abdul Malik Khan Memorial in 2nd half saw their players Hamza Khan, Sabir Khan, and Jahandad Khan come close to scoring but the Orangi Star goalie stopped them every time. The match was attended by Pakistan Navy officer Karamat Hussain as chief guest. Referees were Saad Kazmi with assistants Mumtaz and Bashir, while match commissioner was Khalid Majeed. Colony Star will face Nawab XI at 9 PM on Sunday.

The All-Karachi Babar Memorial Football Tournament, hosted by Lasbela Students FC (Zone West), will see Young Ansari and Frontier City contest its final on Sunday at 4 PM. Both Zone West sides reached the final after winning their semi-finals against Tanzeem Sports Gizri (Zone South) on penalties 4-3 and National Fighter (Kala Pul) 2-1 on penalties respectively. Former KASB Karachi League champions’ Young Ansari had goalkeeper Rashid Munna to thank for against Tanzeem Sports as he saved 2 penalties in shoot-out.
