Lahore, 2 April: Model Town Football Academy U14 team struck thrice in each session to beat Karachi’s Bay View High School 6-1 in IP Challenge clash at MTFA Ground under flood lit system last night.
The chief guest was newly-elected President of Lahore District Football Association Mian Rizwan Ali. The availabity of MTFA on Pakistan soil is memorable and will ever be remembered in 62-year soccer history of country. The man behind the fantastic progress of Academy in soccer-drought country is diehard soccer enthusiast Mian Rizwan Ali. It is running on the modern scientific lines and made progress on the strong footings within the shortest span of five years, and earned reputation as one of the biggest Academies in World. Academy started functioning in 2005, registered only 25 youths in starting year, hit three-figure mark in 2006 and the numbers of boys went on increasing in 2007 and now it is comprised of 1805 players. Ideally Situated at Civil Lines in Clifton and established in 1994, Bay View High School is a modern, co-educational institution which provides a British System of education leading to Cambridge University International O’ and A’ level examinations.
MTFA led 3-0 at breather and struck twice through Ali Akhtar in the 13th, 35th minute while Hamza Ali (20th min), Faisal Yazdani (25th min), Uneeb Ahmed (46th min), Raja Hassan Ullah Khan (59th min) added once. Furqan Farouqi earned consolation goal in the 50th min for visitors from Karachi. Referee Akhter Saeed Khan supervised the match, ably supported by Daniel Gill, Muhammad Wasim under Match Commissioner Chaudhy Asghar.
