Frontier enter Last 16 of Women Club Championship

Lahore, 17 April: Hot favorites to win Khyber Pakhtunkhawa-based Group-D, Frontier Women Club lived upto the predictions when they overwhelmed Peshawar Club 2-0 in the fourth edition of National Women Football Club Championship on Sunday. They started the Group Friday on winning note when they thrashed Striker FC 7-1 at Frontier College for Women, Asa Mai Gate, Cinema Road near Lady Reading Hospital.

It was second match for Frontier in the group at same arena and they raised their tally to six points, thus entering the 7th National Women Championship slated to run at Islamabad’s Jinnah Stadium from 17-30 September 2011.

The Champions of Quetta and Karachi Zone will also enter into coming National Women Championship along with the top two teams of Lahore and Islamabad zone.

Frontier FC gave no chance to Peshawar Club with goals in each half. Midfielder Ayesha Naeem opened the scoring in the 5th minute while striker Rabia Zaman doubled the margin with last gasp goal.
