Raiders beat Walton with last-gasp strike to reach semis

Lahore, 24 March: Raiders FC, the team formed before World War II, thumped last ditch goal to beat Walton FC 1-0 Model Town to enter and joined Model Town FC in the semi-final of All Punjab Raiders Football Cup 2011 at Raiders Football Club Ground, Faisal Town today.

The match was watched by chief guest Tariq Qureshi, head of popular web wvpakistan.com. The final of the event will be played on 29 March, after two semi-finals on 27, 28 March.

Both the team made cautious start and the first half saw both the teams failed to get a single goal. It remained barren till four minutes from time when Raiders’s winger Kamal punished a defensive blunder inside Walton’s area and slammed the all-important goal from close range.
