Hamara Karachi 7-side Quarter Finals completed

The National Soccer Academy Ground (Paposh, North Nazimabad) saw the completion of the Hamara Karachi 7-a-side Football Festival Tournament quarter-finals stage on Wedensday, 9 March 2011. Karachi United FC, National Soccer Academy, Gharib Shah Union (Lyari), and Aga Khan Gymkhana won their respective games against FC Rovers (Malir), Young Muslim (Orangi), Al-Shabaz Korangi, and Baloch Youth Garden to qualify for the semi-finals.

Karachi United will face Gharib Shah Union in 1st semi-final, while NSA will face Aga Khan Gymkhana in 2nd semi-final.

Karachi United eased past FC Rovers in a heavily one-sided game 8-1 with Rehan Munir scoring the first hat-trick of the tournament. Taha Rehman and Sajjad Ali ‘Carlos’ scored twice each while Shehryar scored once for the rampaging KUFC side. Sikander Butt scored the lone goal for FC Rovers in the encounter.

Tournament hosts, NSA beat Young Muslim 5-1 in another one-sided quarter-final tie. International star Fareed Majeed scored twice while ex-youth international Mohsin Shah, Muhammad Atif, and Abdullah scored once each for NSA while Mama Abdul Qadir scored Young Muslim’s lone goal.

Gharib Shah Union squeezed past Al-Shabaz Korangi 5-4 in penalty shoot-out after 2-2 tie in normal time. Jameel Baloch and Muhammad Yaqoob scored for Gharib Shah Union while Abdul Rehman and Akhtar Rasheed scored for Al-Shabaz in normal time.

Aga Khan Gymkhana beat Baloch Youth Garden 3-2 in a close encounter. Noman Khan, Bakhtash, and Sirajuddin scored for AKG while Talal Ayub and Aurangzeb scored for Baloch Youth.

Before the quarter-finals stage, FC Rovers had beaten Frontier City 3-1 while Baloch Youth Garden beat Shah Faisal Nazimabad 2-0. Sikander Butt scored twice and Waleed Ahmed scored once for FC Rovers while Shah Hussain scored Frontier City’s lone goal from a free kick. Aurangzeb scored twice for Baloch Youth Garden against Shah Faisal.

Referees was Habib Ullah and Babar Khan, while match commissioner was Abdul Karim (member Central Zone).
