Ex-footballer Muhammad Siddique Lone passes away

One of the legendary players of the past, Muhammad Siddique Lone passed away aged 80 because of a prolonged illness in his kidneys. Mr Lone had earned his name as a football star by playing for Calcutta Mohammadan, Karachi Port Trust and Sindh Government Press.

His fellow players from that era included Abdullah Rahi, Captain Omer, Ghulam Abbas Baloch, Musa Ghazi, Abid Ghazi, Turab Ali, Rehman Laasi etc.

The deceased joined Sindh Government Press after playing for KPT and spent a long time of his life working for SGP before retiring. The mourners of Muhammad Siddique Lone include his widow, his daughter and his son Usman Lone.

Usman followed in his fathers footsteps in becoming involved with the game as he is current captain of Karachi club Nazimabad FC as well as being a PFF-certified coach and also being an affiliated coach from Coach Mark Soccer Club during his stay in USA in past.

On the occasion of Muhammad Siddique Lone’s death, many renowned football personalities from Karachi expressed their condolences to the berieved ones over his passing away.
