MTFA appoint Yasin as coach for National U13 Festival 2011

MTFA U13 coach Yasin Khan

Lahore, 14 Feb: Silver Medallist in 26th National Games at Karachi as Railways captain 14 years ago, Yasin Khan became the third coach of Model Town Academy Club during National U13 Festival of Football. Previous coaches in the annual event of PFF for MTFA Academy were Khaled Khan (2007) and Nadeem Sarwar (2009).

“Myself need to make a change or advancement in my career or profession as the set-up of MTFA is well-equipped with infrastructure, latest facilities and scientific approach that will help me a lot. I’m so happy and grateful to be a part of the ancient and famous club of Lahore,” said Rahim Yar Khan-born Yasin, who was captain of Sargodha U16, Railways Youth and Railways from 1982 to 1989.

Son of Rehmat Khan, Yasin completed FA from BISE Bahawalpur and was an important figure in AFC C-Certificate Football Coaching Course at Lahore from 4-17 June 2007 under AFC Instructor Majid Jalali (Iran) and PFF Instructor Tariq Lutfi, now National team coach.

Although Yasin, 44, is recognized for his own talent while he was a player, it is perhaps his appointment in 1997-98 in National Games and National Champonship as Railways captain makes him notable in the history of Pakistan football. He appeared in 14 National Champonships and eight National Games in all besides 17 Railways ID Championships.

“It is vital that a highly qualified coach can oversee the needs of players teachers and Academy’s other coaches. Good players need talent but they also need good coaches. The most important quality a coach need is enthusiasm. Players respond brilliantly to an eager, hard working leader. MTFA monitored the coaching skill of Yasin during various assignments and decided to appoint him for MTFA U13 team,” said MTFA’s President Mian Rizwan Ali.
