PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011: Singolane, Lyari Town enter last four

Lahore, 21 Jan:  Singolane and Lyari Town forced their way into semi-finals of PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011 at Kalakot’s Shaheed Abdul Rehman Park, Lyari Town, Karachi.  Singolane ended Daryabad’s promising run with 4-2 win in the second quarter-final while Lyari Town struck once in both session to knock out Hub 2-0 in the third Quarter-final.

Singolane ended Darayabad with two strikes in last six minutes after the match was beatufully balanced 2-2 at the 64th minute. Idrees Rehman gave the winners an early 4th minute lead and Daryabad defender Mujahid clipped all past his own keeper in the 27th minute to extend their lead to 2-0 with an own goal. Singolane led 2-0 at interval but Daryabad went all out to make it 2-2. Amir Bakhsh pulled one back in the 42nd minute and Mujahid made amends fo his earlier mistake to draw level in the  57th minute. But goals by Abdul Hai in the  64th minute and Muhammad Ali in the  70+2 minute took the tense encounter away from attractive Daryabad outfit.

Later on, Lyari Town snatched 2-0 win over Hub. Lyari struck goals in the 26th and 36th minute through Maqbool Ahmed and Zohaib Nisar respectively. Maqbool was voted Man of the Match and took handsome Shield from  former Pakistani skipper Zafar Iqbal (PIA).The matches were supervised by Abdul Aziz, Abdul Karim, Dad Rehman,  Ansar Javed, Farid Ahmed, Ansar Javed, Shahid Ismail, Jalal Ahmed under Match Commissioner Yaqoob Baloch

Saturday (22 Jan) Fixture: Semi-Finals – Singolane v Nawalane (2 PM), Lyari Town v  Baghdadi or Kalakot (4 PM). Both matches at Abdul Rehman Park.
