Lahore, 20 Jan: Bihar forced their way into semi-finals of PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011 at Kalakot’s Shaheed Abdul Rehman Park, Lyari Town, Karachi. Bihar eliminated Nawalane 2-0 with two well-taken second session goals in the first quarter-final and will cash with winner of Singolane/Daryabad in the Saturday semi-final (2 PM Kick-off)
Group-A leader with seven points, Nawalane suffered frustratin at the hands of Bihar who mustered six points as Group-D Runner Up. Mam Jan was the herto witrh goals in the 42nd and 46th after 0-0 first half. The Man of the Match for the absorbing affair was Mam Jan who received the award from DFA Karachi South Chairman Imam Bakhsh Sajidi of Sajidi Baloch FC.
Earlier, in 24th and last league match of the event, firm favourites Lyari Town mesmerized depleted Khada 6-1 in Group-D. Spearhead Maqbool Ahmed hit the net five times after landing opener in the 36th seconds. His other strikes were recorded in 4th, 42nd, 55th and 59th minute while Zohaib Nisar stepped in with 9th minute goal. Khada earned honor saving goal through Shakir Hussain in the 57th minute. Lyari Town won all their three matches in Group-D with goal count 14-1 while Khada finished at the bottom of Group-D, conceding 20 goals.
Maqbool’s feat was tenth hat-trick of the event. Asif Nawaz (Kalakot) was the first one on 8 January against Daryabad, followed by Zameer Ahmed three-goal spell for Rangiwara against Nayabad next day. Two hat tricks were netted on 10 January for Bihar Colony against Khada with heroes being Sarfraz and Amjad Hussain. Iddris Rehman (Singolane) was the fifth in line versus Winder Gadani on 11 January.Three days later, Hub’s Nisar Ahmed was hero against Nayabad while on 18 Jan, Nawalane’s 10 goals saw Mustafa, Nauman and Asmat Ali turned themselves into three-goal figure.
Maqbool was voted Man of the Match and took handsome Shield from international Abdul Samad who used to play for KESC and Lyari’s Baloch Muhammadan FC.The matches were supervised by Abdul Aziz, Abdul Karim, Dad Rehman, Ansar Javed, Farid Ahmed, Ansar Javed, Shahid Ismail, Jalal Ahmed under Match Commissioner Yaqoob Baloch.
