The All-Karachi Izhar Jan (Bhaiya) and Javed Shaheed Football Tournament, hosted by Orangi Town’s Young Muslim FC at Mini Stadium in Orangi No.5 witnessed Orangi Mohammadan overcome Shabaz Green 2-1 to win the final attended by chief guest Saifuddin Khalid (MQM); Sindh MPA from Orangi Town, Karachi. Referees were Dad Rehman and Muhammad Rizwan, while match commissioner was Ustad Tufail Niazi.
Kashif Azam and Muhammad Javed scored for winners while Shaukat Khan scored for Shabaz Green in final. Kashif Azam was declared player of the tournament while Muhammad Rafique was man of the match. Young Muslim FC’s Mama Abdul Qadir was declared best forward and Arshad Ali declared best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Orangi Mohammadan beat tournament hosts Young Muslim while Shabaz Green beat Parwana Sports in their respective semi-finals earlier to meet in the final.
MPA Saifuddin Khalid distributed prizes to both teams and players and promised to help improve the facilities, pitch, and floodlights of the Young Muslim FC ground in Orangi No.5 as well vowing to make the tournament be played at level of District West. He also presented Rs 5000 to the winning side, Rs 3000 for the runners up, and Rs 1000 each to the 15 best players of the tournament played. Another guest, Arshad Iqbal from Nawabshah, also presented Rs 5000 to the tournament organising committee as well Rs 1000 each to the winning and losing sides.
The conclusion ceremony of the tournament was also attended by Ziaullah Chauhan (DSP Hyderabad) and Arshad Iqbal from Nawabshah. Also present were Fatah Muhammad Baloch (Chairman, Malir), Rahim Bakshah Baloch (Secretary Zone West), veteran football journalist Riaz Ahmed, Dr Abdul Hameed (Secretary, Baloch Youth Garden FC), Muhammad Israr ul Haq, Abdul Jabbar Hashmi, Mohim, Ustad Tufail Niazi, Khalid Majeed among others.
