Lyceum School reach quarters of KUSC 2010-11 with 9-0 rout

The 6th Karachi United School Championship 2010-11 saw defending champions Lyceum School enter the quarter-finals of the competition after an emphatic 9-0 win over Group ‘A’ rivals St. Michaels’ Convent School at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi.

The game saw hat-tricks by Mizyal Wahid and Taha Rahman while Daniyal Aleem, Muhammad Rizwan and Abdullah scored one each for Lyceum School against the hapless St. Michaels’ side. Match referees were Babar Khan alongside assistants Adnan Khan and Farrukh Riaz, while match commissioner was Abdul Karim (Member Central Zone).

The result made Lyceum join Aga Khan Secondary School from Group ‘A’ into the next stage of the competition as top two sides. The group winners will be decided when both sides face each other later at 9:45 AM while remaining group stage games will be completed between 8:30 AM till 2 PM on Sunday.

The Lyceum-St. Michaels’ clashed proved to be a one-way humiliation for the latter team as Lyceum showed their class in front of goal to put their rivals to the sword. Abdullah opened the scoring in 5th minute while Mizyad Wahid scored the 9th of the game for Lyceum by 48th minute. Taha Rahman (7′,21′,43′) and Mizyal Wahid (27′,46′,48′) both scored hat-tricks in the game while M. Rizwan (34′) and Daniyal Aleem (40′) joined the fun. This was Lyceum’s second successive win the the group stage to be among top two for quarterfinals.
