Al-Shabaz Korangi saw its unbeaten streak in 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11 ended by Mauripur Baloch as the latter won 2-0 with goals in 2nd half. In other game, Shazad Mohammadan (Malir) beat Gulshan-e-Ittehad (Korangi) in a one sided affair 3-0. Both games were held at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. Adnan Sakhi and Wahid Noor scored the goals for Mauripur Baloch, while Noor Bakhsh, Noor Ahmed, and Muhammad Baloch scored for Shazad Mohammadan. Referees were Adnan Khan, Babar Khan, Farrukh Riaz, and Muhammad Kamran, while match commissioner was Saleem Arif.
KFL organising secretary Riaz Ahmed declared Adnan Sakhi (Mauripur Baloch) and Noor Bakhsh (Shazad Mohammadan) as the respective man of the matches. The results leave Mauripur Baloch top of Group ‘B’ with 12 pts from 5 games while Al-Shabaz Korangi go down to 2nd place with 10 points from 5 games. Shazad Mohammadan are 5th placed with 6 pts from 4 games while Gulshan-e-Ittehad are on 6th place with 4 points from 5 games.
The Mauripur vs Al-Shabaz game was attended by chief guests Eng. Zubair Ahmed and Eng. Abdul Wahid (Chief Minister House, Sindh) who met the players of both teams alongside Muhammad Rahim (Secretary, Zone East), Usman Shah (Joint Secretary), Ajmal Khattak, members of Zone East etc. A tense first half saw both teams held goal-less at half time. However, Mauripur Baloch took the lead through Adnan Sakhi in 70th minute which was later doubled by substitute striker Wahid Noor in the last seconds of the game as Al-Shabaz Korangi faced their first defeat of the campaign with Mauripur Baloch winning 2-0.
In second game, Gulshan-e-Ittehad started strongly against former champions Shazad Mohammadan as they dominated the first half but their strikers Nabi Bakhsh, Hameed Hussain, Muhammad Amir, and Muhammad Ayub could not convert their chances as the score remained 0-0 at half time. However, Shazad Mohammadan gave a strong response in 2nd half as goals from Noor Bakhsh (48′), Muhammad Baloch (59′) and Noor Ahmed (72′) helped them beat Gulshan-e-Ittehad by a convincing 3-0 score to gain 3 valuable points.
Today, Shabaz Green face Orangi Mohammadan at 3 PM while Young Ansari face Baloch Youth Garden at 5 PM.
