The 6th Karachi United School Championship 2010-11 saw the beginning of its knock out round at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. In the first quarter-final, favourites Karachi Grammar School overcame Aga Khan Secondary School 4-1. Shazer Razi scored twice while Moiz Farooqi and Bruce scored once for KGS, with Umar Khalil scoring one for Aga Khan. In second quarter-final, Southshore School beat Beaconhouse Jubilee 8-7 on penalties after their game ended 1-1 in normal time. Beaconhouse Jubilee took lead through Hamad Athar while Danial Naqvi equalised for Southshore.
KUSC Organising Secretary Riaz Ahmed present man of the match awards to Shazer Razi (KGS) and Danial Naqvi (Southshore). Referees were Adnan Khan and Babar Khan with assistants Farrukh Riaz, Mumtaz Baloch, Riaz Baloch while match commissioner was Abdul Karim (Member Central Zone). On Monday, Nixor College face St. Patricks’ High School in 3rd quarter-final with 3 PM kick off.
4 time winners KGS beat Aga Khan School 4-1 in one side encounter to reach semi-finals. Shazer Razi scored from a pass from Atif Sachak in 5th minute before Moiz Farooqi scored from a free kick in 28th minute to put KGS 2-0 up at half time. In 2nd half, Bruce scored to make it 3-0 in 38th minute while Shazer Razi scored his second from penalty spot in 59th minute. Aga Khan School’s Umar Khalil reduced the deficit to 3-1 in 55th minute but KGS comfortably won 4-1 in the end.
Southshore School beat Beaconhouse Jubilee 8-7 on penalties after drawing 1-1 at end of normal time. Hammad Athar gave Jubilee the lead in 40th minute but Danial Naqvi equalised moments later with an amazing effort. Both sides ended up taking 10 penalties each on which Southshore won 8-7.
