Faisal announces attractive Prize Money in KESC Lyari League

Lahore, 23 Jan: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, MNA, has announced handsome prizes for finalists of PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011. The final of the event will be played on Monday, 24 January when hot favourites Lyari Town will collide with Singholane at mammoth Peoples Sports Complex, Karachi ( 3 PM Kick-off)

The winning team of 17-day event will be presented Rs 1,00,000 cash while the runner-up will receive Rs. 50,000. There will also be  individual prizes.It is first time in history of Lyari that such handsome cash prize will be given to U14 boys.

Under the brilliant leadership of  PFF Chief  and AFC EXCO member Faisal Saleh Hayat, PFF is in full swing as far as Youth Development through Football (YDF) program is concerned and PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011 is one of the gigantic step. “We are grateful to the PFF Chief who has ordered a sum of Rs. 5000 to be presented to each boy playing in the league along with providing for their food and transport during the event. There are a total of 352 players so this amounts to over Rs. 20,00,000. But PFF will not compromise when it comes to providing benefits to players,” said PFF`s Director Marketing and Event Management Sardar Naveed Haider Khan.

The 16-team event was a testament to Lyari’s potential in sports.During the 30 matches at Abdul Rehman Park and the two matches at Peoples Complex. Man of the Match in all 32 games were rewarded by handsome PFF shield by Lyari-based internationals and administrators who showed fine display and handled Lyari soccer in past years.

Sixteen teams of U14 footballers were seen in the event. Lyari Town, known as a football hotbed in Pakistan, and other eleven U14 Union Councils of Lyari Town namely UC-01 (Agra Taj), UC-02 (Daryabad), UC-03 (Nayabad) UC-04 (Khada), UC-05 (Baghdadi), UC-06 (Kalri), UC-07 (Bihar Colony), UC-8 (Rangiwara), UC-09 (Singolane), UC-10 (Kalakot) and UC-11 (Nawalane) showed their prowess in the event along four from industrial estates in Balochistan Uthal, Bela, Winder and the Hub.
