Chief Minister Boys Football Cup at Gujranwala on Monday

Lahore, 27 Jan:  Six teams of Gujrawala Division will show their mettle when second Chief Minister Boys Football Cup will be held at Mini Sports Complex, Gujranwala on Monday, 31 January.
According to Sports Officer Gujranwala Shah Manzar Fareed, the champions Colleges of Narowal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat will take part in the football event for 2nd CM Sports Competitions (high school intermediate stage).

Manzar Fareed said Districts of Punjab produced many great sports personalities and there are plenty of hidden talent among our youth and should be nurtured, promoted and encouraged to come to National and International standards through school and colleges and CM Sports Competitions will play a vital role in this regard. The way CM  take up promotion of sports in a big way encourage talented children and youth in the field.

Earlier, Gujranwala’s Punjab College clinch Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Cricket and Athletics while Govt. College collected title of Badminton. In Girls section four sports were played with Punjab College winning top slot in Badminton, Hockey and Volleyball while athletics belonged to Model Town. The final phase of all sports involving all districts of Punjab will be held from 29 January to 1 February 2011.

Manzar also praised the all out help in the  2nd CM Sports Competitions of famous international star Hafeez Malik, who was part of the Pakistan squad during 1998 France World Cup qualifiers and coach of the Punjab team that won first-ever National Women’s Soccer Championship 2005 in Islamabad  and TSO Saddar Aysha Saleem, TSO Nowshera Virkan Najeeb Ahsan Shah, Rana Shaukat Ali TSO City, Ch. Muhammad Rafiq, Muhammad Riaz, Farrukh Rasheed, Miss Perveen and Miss Bilqees.
