Lahore to host “Do or Die” Railway- Police PFF League clash on Tuesday

Lahore, 13 Dec: Two times National Champions Pakistan Railways and Pakistan Police announced their football team for the 6th Super League match of PFF League – Departmental Leg. The match between the two top outfits of Super League will be played at Garhi Shahue’s Railway Stadium, Lahore on Tuesday, 14 December 2010 (2 PM). The winner set to advance to the Pakistan Premier Football League 2011.

Both Railways and Police managed six points in two matches but goal-counts of Railways is much better as Railways trounced Steel 4-0 and defeated PTV 3-1. It is “must win situation” for Police who managed to beat the two opponents with 1-0 scoreline. Railways have won the PFF League in 2005 while Police were unsuccessful in six attempts. While Railways start favorites, it will be a mistake to write off Police, more so after their dogged display against PTV and Steel.

The Champion of departmental Leg will enter Pakistan Premier Football League 2011 and face club event champion, replacing one of the two relegated team who finished 15th and 16th berth in PPFL 2010. The Winner of Department Leg will face Winner of Club Leg – either Lahore’s Wohaib FC or Chaman’s Muslim FC – on 20 December 2010 Monday at 2.30 PM to decide overall champion of PFF League.
