KPT, HBL record win : NBP-PAF draw 0-0

Lahore, 24 Dec: Four more matches were decided in Pakistan Premier Football League at various centres of Karachi. The four matches provided only three goals as two matches were ended in 0-0 draw. NBP dominated the play and were held to scoreless draw by PAF at Sharafi Goth’s Korangi Baloch Stadium, Landhi Town . PAF completed their 30 matches with 45 points as compared to NBP’s 31 in 29 outings.

HBL outgun PEL 2-0 against run of play at Peoples Sports Complex, Mauripur Road , Lyari Town. Played without their coach Asghar Khan Anjum, PEL hit the steel work ion both session. Muhammad Rashid, playing as winger, hit the cross bar in the first session with keeper no way. The first half ended 0-0 as PEL strikers Asmat Ullah, Muzaffar Ali fumblred to chances.

The second session saw PEL’s Muzaffar missed the chance in the 4th minute. Hardly 50 seconds later he saw his powerful drive rebounded off left post.

The bankers occupied supremacy in the dying seconds and their striker Zakir Lashari send 88th minute right footed drive onto left corner with keeper Saqib Hanif stranded. It was sixth goal of the event for Zakir. The injury time another goal for the 1982 Champions when winger Muhammad Ibrahim dashed through the middle and steered the ball past onrushing Saqib, a PFF Youth Development keeper from Bannu..Both the teams are left with one match each. PEL secured 38 points while HBL managed 22 points.

SSGC earned win by default as Navy failed to turn up at Peoples Sports Complex, Mauripur Road, Lyari Town due to National Games commitment. SSGC were given three points as well as 3-0 scoreline. It was 30th and last match for SSGC who collected 20 points. Navy, a game in hand, recorded 42 points.

Little spearhead Muhammad bin Younus clipped the lone goal as KPT brushed aside WAPDA 1-0 at KPT – Benazir Sports Complex, West Wharf Road , Kharadar, Karachi .WAPDA still have to play two matches are with 67 points while KPT completed 29 games, getting 50 points. It was 11th goal for Muhammad who broke off-side trap and went clear in the 12th minute to beat keeper Rao Yamin with ease. It could have been 2-0 but Junaid Qadir smacked the cross bar with dive from the edge of the area.
