KFL 2010-11 sees two drawn games on Monday

The 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11 organised by Karachi United FC entered its 3rd day as it witnessed two action packed drawn games at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. Venue hosts Baloch Mujahid came from behind to draw FC Rovers (Malir) in a thrilling 3-3 game while Gulshan-e-Ittehad (Korangi) were held 1-1 by Al-Shahbaz (Korangi).

Baloch Mujahid’s veteran striker Muhammad Hanif and Gulshan-e-Ittehad goalkeeper Abdullah were declared man of the match in their respective games.

Baloch Mujahid scored 3 goals in 11 second half minutes to deny FC Rovers a certain victory as they came from behind to finish the game 3-3. FC Rovers took the lead from a Usama Noor penalty in 6th minute of the game after referee Saleem Faiz blew the whistle for a foul by Baloch Mujahid goalkeeper Shahzad. FC Rovers then went 2-0 up before half time in 37th minute when Salman Shahid scored from a Radus Salam cross. In 72nd minute, Baloch Mujahid midfielder Salal Raza scored from a 35-yard free kick to make it 2-1 but 2 minutes later a freekick by Abdullah made it 3-1 for FC Rovers as they looked set to win the game comfortably. Just a minute after that, Baloch Mujahid veteran Muhammad Hanif shot past FC Rovers goalie Nauman Anwar to make the game 3-2 as Baloch Mujahid continued their fight back. In 83rd minute, Hanif squared the game 3-3 with his second goal from a speculative try as the game drew to a close tied, sharing the points.

In the other game, Gulshan-e-Ittehad and Al-Shahbaz were 0-0 at half time but Gulshan striker striker Muhammad Ayub made it 1-0 in 47th minute. But Al-Shahbaz’s veteran striker Abdul Rahman made it 1-1 when he scored from a pass from right winger Akhtar Rasheed as the made finished with both teams getting 1 point each.

Referees for the games were Saleem Faiz and Babar Khan while match commissioner was Abdul Karim (Member Central Zone). Today’s game features Baloch Youth Garden face off Orangi Muhammadan.
