Ishaq propels Navy to revengful win over KPT: PAF edge out KESC 2-0

Lahore, 9 Dec: Dera Ismail Khan-born ageing goal keeper Ishaq Ahmed put up splendid display under the bar as Pakistan Navy cruised to revengeful 1-0 win over KPT at KPT – Benazir Sports Complex, West Wharf Road, Kharadar, Karachi in the Pakistan Premier Football League. Meanwhile, PAF slammed once in each session as airmen overpowered KESC 2-0 at Peoples Sports Complex, Mauripur Road, Lyari Town.

KPT were the dominant firce in the all-sea match against the semen. But the match ended in favor of Ishaq Ahmed-led team who fired the 25th minute winning goal through Gizri-born twenty years old left winger Asif Bakhsh. He cut in from left flank, eveaded three tackles and swept the ball past advancing young keeper Ehsan Ullah, preffered over Choice One keeper Sajid. It was 5th goal for Asif who played for Sindh Muslim Gizri..

KPT, handicapped the the missing of key players Muhammad bin Yonus, Naveed Ahmed and skipper Ahkrae Mamil due to suspension, had better possession but Muhammad Waseem and Shahid Salim fumbled real oppotunities in the first half.

Under Khalid Zubair coaching Navy put up positive display despite losing the first leg 1-4 on 8 October 2010 at Rawalpindi. Their winger Muhammad Basharat might have score more goals but he failed to impress infront of goal.On the other hand, KPT maintained their onslaught but Ishaq was equal to halt their moves. Salim fumbed 7th minute attemt and three minutes later Zafar Majeed was not proper with his try. Zahid Ahmed himself failed on three occasions in the 19th 26th and 43rd minute while Muhammad Waseem hit the ball straight to Ishaq in the 20th minute.The 31st minute saw another chance for Salim but he drove the ball straight to Ishaq.

The difference in KESC-PAF clash was Toba Tek Singh-born winger Muhmmad Zeeshan who tucked both goals in PAF’s tenth win. Zeeshan hammered the goal in the 43rd and 54th minute and raised his tally to six.
