Faisal announces attractive Prize Money for PFF League

Lahore, 3 December: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, MNA, has announced handsome prizes for four top teams of Pakistan Football Federation League – Departmental Phase. The Champion of eight-team show will get Rs.2 lacs instead of one lac whereas runner up team will walk away with Rs. 1 lac and the losing finalist will be rewarded 25,000 each when the event will come to conclusion.

In all, handsome amount will be handed over when the Champions of departmental and club event will earn slot in 2011’s Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL), replacing two relegated team who finished 15th and 16th berth in PPFL 2010. The Winner of Department Leg will face Winner of Club Leg on 20 December 2010 Monday at 2.30 PM to decide overall champion.

Faisal, who is going all out for the welfare of players, coaches, referees and administrators, provided new-look to individual prizes in order to strengthen the individual thrust of players, referees, and to improve all aspects of football. The most valuable player (MVP) will get Rs. 25,000 while leading marksman and best goal-keeper will pocket Rs.20,000 each.

In order to promote Sportsmanship, PFF Chief had also decided to hand over cash prize of Rs.30,000 to winner of Fair Play trophy. “The generic concept of fair play is a fundamental part of the game of football. It represents the positive benefits of playing by the rules, using common sense and respecting fellow players, referees, opponents and fans,” said Faisal.

It is first time in history of PFF League that such handsome cash prize will be given to Fair Play trophy winner.” Fair Play has a fundamental role in sport and there is a need to apply it to all sporting activities, especially PFF’s age-limit events. The youngsters need strong values to grow up with, and football, being a team sport, makes them realize how essential discipline, respect, team spirit and fair play are for the game and for life,” Faisal added who also asked PFF Finance Cell to make arrangement for prizes of Best Referee and Best Assistant Referee, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.

In addition, big money will be distributed among participants as Match bonus. Each match will have Rs.15, 000 instead of Rs.10,000 as bonus. The winner of the match will get Rs.10,000 and the loser Rs. 5000 (Rs. 7500 each in case of draw). PFF also provided the host Rs. 3000/- per match for ground arrangements.
