Lahore, 26 Nov: Represented John Henry Layton coached-Pakistan in 32nd Asian Youth U19 Championship at Sugthadasa Stadium, Colombo and Shiroudi Stadium,Tehran 2000, lanky Asim Faiz became the second leading scorer after Arif Mehmood ( WAPDA – 20 goals) when he struck four goals in the Pakistan Premier Football League on Friday when SSGC thrashed disjointed Young Blood 6-2 at KPT – Benazir Sports Complex, West Wharf Road, Kharadar, Karachi.

Asim, failed from Karachi West’s Baloch Union Club, gave no room to tired Young Blood with four brilliant strikes as Relegation-danger SSGC piled up tennis score win.

Asim Faiz, front-line player, gave SSGC a perfect start with two goals inside 21 minutes. His first two goals were emerged in the 18th and 21st minute. Midfielder Imran Hussain enhanced the lead to 3-0 in the 38th minute. But few seconds later spearhead Asim Mansoor pulled one back for the visitors from Sahiwal as SSGC led 3-1 at interval.

Asim completed his well-taken hat-trick in the 62nd minute, his second in the event within 48 hours. Winger Zain Khalid made it 4-2 seven minutes later but goals by SSGC’s Sabir Khan and Asim in the 86th minute and 90+1 minute respectively put the issue beyond doubt as Asim became the first man in the ongoing show to score fours goals in a match. Young Blood visited the ground 24 times for their 17 points while SSGC have 15 points in 22 matches.

PIA slammed twice in the second session to overwhelm PMC Athletico 2-0 at Sharafi Goth’s Korangi Baloch Stadium, Landhi Town. PIA earned 37 points from 20 matches while PMC mustered 15 in 24 games. After a dull, drab first half that produced no goal, striker Muhammad Ishtiaq stopped goal draught in the 73rd minute and it was left to Quetta-born skipper Nasr Ullah Khan to seal the match with superb 87th minute strike. PMC had to play the match without their suspended skipper Haroon Yousaf.
