Lyceum School win FPS All-Karachi Inter-School Football Tournament (A-Levels)

Lyceum School (A-Levels) - Karachi

Lyceum School beat Nixor College 1-0 in the final of the FPS All-Karachi Inter-School Football Tournament (A-Levels) held at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Haideri. Tournament top scorer Taha Rahman was the hero of the final for Lyceum when he scored the only goal of the game 2 minutes before the final whistle. Taha scored a total of 7 goals in the competition. The game was attended by students from both educational campuses with Foundation Public School administrator Raza Kamal Minhas as chief guest.

Under PFF certified coach Ahsan Raza (NBP FC), Lyceum School dominated the game from the start but could not score past Nixor College goalie Shehryar. Taha Rahman missed two glorious chances when he was twice put clean through on goal. However, two minutes before the end Taha scored the winner from a Danial Aziz cross. Throughout the

game, Nixor’s star striker Karim Kerai – who also is a player for Karachi United FC – was kept on a tight leash by Lyceum defender Muhammad Rizwan, thus restricting Nixor College’s attacking chances for the entire final.

Referee was Yousuf Mansoori with assistants Ali Haider and Jamil Naz while match commissioner was Iqrar Hussain. The prize distribution ceremony after the match was held at Foundation Public School premises.
