Karachi football round-up: Izhar & Javed tournament and Hussain Baloch tournament

The All-Karachi Izhar Jan (Bhaiya) and Javed Shaheed Football Tournament, hosted by Orangi Town’s Young Muslim FC, has reached the quarterfinals stage.

Shahbaz Green Banaras beat Young Azizabad (Central) 1-0 in which chief guest was Shahbaz Green’s chairman Umar Zadah. Pirabad Golden beat Young Ittehad Baldia Town 2-1 thanks to goals from Ahmed and Mehmood while Noor Muhammad scored for the losing side. Orangi Muhammad completely outclassed Qadri Sports Baldia 5-0 thanks to a superb hat trick by Rashid who ably supported by a goal each from team mates Abbas and Waqar.

These matches were supervised by referees Muhammad Rizwan and Naimat Ullah with match commissioner being Muhammad Yousaf.

According to the tournament’s organising secretary Ishtiaq Rao, hosts Young Muslim FC, Shahbaz Green, Pirabad Golden, Parwana Sports, Orangi Millat, Azad Shaheen, and Orangi Muhammadan have qualified for the quarterfinals stage. The first quarterfinal will be played between hosts Young Muslim and Faqir Muhammadan on 7th November 2010.

Hussain Baloch Football Tournament in full swing

Hosted by Malir National FC at the Old Thana Malir Ground, the All-Karachi Hussain Baloch Memorial Benefit Football Tournament witnessed Baloch Union Malir, Adil Sports Malir, Young Malir, and Gulshan Ittehad Korangi qualify for its next round.

In a tense match, Baloch Union Malir overcame Baran Muhammadan 1-0 thanks to a 14th minute goal by Sohail. According to Organising Secretary Rafiq Baloch, Adil Sports Malir beat Muhammadi XI Malir by 4-2 scoreline, Young Malir overcame Musa XI 5-4, while Gulshan Ittehad Korangi beat Baloch Fighter Malir 4-3.

The referees for this game were Muhammad Aslam, Naseer Ahmed, Muhammad Asif, Ghulam Sarwar, and Faisal while match commissioner was Master Abdur Rahim.
