FPDC interviews Graham Roberts, Akhtar Mohiuddin & Clem Leech [VIDEO]

Just like Sheraz Tariq the other day, Gauhar Mahmood Azeem & Assaam Saani also answered my pleas for Lahore-based members to take the initiative and go meet the new arrivals at PFF Football House on 16th October 2010.

And they hit the jackpot!

Newly appointed coaching consultant Graham Roberts and head coach Akhtar Mohiuddin were happy to talk about the Pakistan team’s preparation for the Asian Games, working together, future plans and challenges, as well as raising morale and focus of players in readiness for the tournament to be held in November 2010 in Guangzhou, China.

Their thoughts on the visit:

footballpakistan.com caught up with the new consultant of the Pakistani football team Mr. Graham Roberts and the Head Coach Mr. Akhtar Mohiuddin and conducted an interview with them about how they plan to take the national team and the setup forward and their hopes for the Asian Games. We also asked Mr. Roberts on how he has found Pakistan during his stay here. The interviews are given below.

It was noted that the coaching team has great chemistry and Mr. Roberts and Mr. Mohiuddin are working excellently together. The players are really charged up and Mr. Roberts is really inspiring the players to go one step further. The team is preparing to put up a great show at the Asian Games next month in China. The coaching staff and the entire nation has high hopes from the young and talented squad and it is safe to say the youngsters are in safe hands under this passionate coaching team.

They also had a short chat with PFF Director Operations Pervaiz Saeed Mir on PFF’s future plans for football in Pakistan.

Club football the future of Pakistani Football says Director Operations PFF Pervaiz Mir

Director Operations PFF Perviaz Mir said that he believes club football is the future of Pakistani Football stating that departmental football will ultimately take a back seat. He was speaking exclusively to footballpakistan.com

He said the PFF intends to create an Elite Club League by 2012. He said there is great support and also great pressure from the international scene on the PFF to promote football in Pakistan at all levels. This he said is a very good thing.

The media he said should support football in Pakistan. Pakistan should have a dedicated football channel and he said PFF would fully support such a venture.

Interview with Mr Clem Leech of TouchSky Sports (TSS)

Meeting the TouchSky Sports (TSS) co-founder and director Mr Clem Leech was also on the agenda as Gauhar & Assaam recorded an audio interview about TSS plans and projects for Pakistani football. TSS were instrumental in arranging the consultant role for Graham Roberts by pulling in major UK-based sponsors like TKC Restaurant and Spedition Services Limited to support Roberts’ appointment in order to ease the financial expenses on the already cash-strapped PFF.

And finally as a bonus venture:

Some of the Pakistan team members were having dinner so the boys decided to make a video about them stating their names once again. I did the same last time, but just to make the world who these boys are…we did it again!
