Rasheed hails PIA’s ageing keeper Abu Bakar

Lahore, 30 Sep: Sindh FA’s Ex- member and former Secretary General of Karachi Central’s Naqi Eleven, Abdul Raheed Khan hailed PIA’s keeper Abu Bakar for agility, reflexes and outstanding display below the bar as goal keeper for PIA in ongoing Pakistan Premier Football League. Despite being 36, U16 international Abu Bakar thwarted all the attempts of KESC and he was instrumental in giving PIA their first win as PIA overwhelmed KESC having services of Pakistan skipper Muhammad Essa, PPFL 2008 edition Top scorer Muhammad Rasool, Abdul Rehman, Orangzaib.

Rasheed added that Abu Bakar is the product of Naqi Eleven and the way PIA’s manager Muhammad Shamim, coach Tariq Lutfi, skipper Nasr Ullah Khan relying too heavily on veteran keeper proved the agility and confidence Abu Bakar has. He was also prefered over PIA’s main keeper Bilal Rafiq (Lahore) and Syed Sultan Ali (Pishin) against HBL and yet Abu Bakar came out with flying colors in 0-0 draw. “Due to impressive display of Abu Bakar who represented Pakistan in U16 AFC Cup at Rajshahi, PIA is currently fifth in the Pakistan premier Football League with nine points in five matches, “ concluded Rasheed, manager of Hassan-Baloch coached Karachi Green team that won National Divisional Championship at Lahore 16 years ago.
