KASB to sponsor Premier Football League [The News]

LAHORE: Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari (KASB) Group of Companies will sponsor the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) from 2009 to 2013.

The secretary of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Col Ahmad Yar Khan Lodhi told ‘The News’ after the signing ceremony between the two parties on Saturday at the PFF headquarters in Lahore that under the conditions the KASB will bear all the expenses of the Premier League for a term of five years ie from 2009 to 2013.

It would be the responsibility of the sponsors to bear all the expenses of the wining bonuses, prize money and other relevant expenditures during the competitions.

If any sponsor wishes to sponsor any other event like the national women championship and offers, for instance, around 10 million for it and the KASB also offers the same amount then the deal will be made with the KASB.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Premier League, featuring 14 teams, will start from July 25.

Earlier, during a special ceremony the PFF secretary Col Ahmad Yar Khan Lodhi and the KASB Finance Group representative Dr Zubair Anwar-Bawany signed the contract.

Before that National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) had sponsored the 19th edition of the National Challenge Cup at Hyderabad last April.
