KUSC 2013 Ro16 continues

The 8th Karachi United Schools Football Championship 2013 saw 2 more results of its Round of 16 games at KMC Stadium, Karachi.

In 3rd pre-quarter final game, Southshore School edged Generation’s School 2-1 while in 4th pre-quarter final game,  COMMECS College thrashed Cordoba School 3-0.

Southshore, considered favourites for the KUSC title, were stunned when Awais Qarni’s spectacular halfway line lob beat Southshore goalie Furqan in 19th minute to give Generation’s School a 1-0 lead. Southshore came back strongly in 2nd half as a fantastic solo effort in 44th minute from Momin made it 1-1 and force extra time. Momin then struck again in extra time (63′) to give Southshore a hard-fought victory 2-1 and reach the quarter-finals.

In 4th pre-quarter, COMMECS College overwhelmed Cordoba School with goals from Talha Anwar and Yousaf Fazal (2) helping them reach the quarter-finals.

Referees were Saleem Faiz, Babar Khan, Farrukh Riaz, and match commissioner Khalid Majeed.

Khyber Muslim FC (Baldia Town) beat strong side Sarhad Sports 2-0 to reach the next round of the 7th All-Pakistan NBP Football Cup being held at Colony Sports Stadium in Malir, Karachi.

The closely fought game was 0-0 at half time before goals from Liaquat khan and Farooq helped Khyber Muslim win 2-0 at the end. Referees were Saeed Khan, Khalid Mumtaz, Siraj Talib, Laiq, and match commissioner M Adnan.

On Tuesday, 5 Feb 2013,  Burma Mohammedan face Azam Nagar.

Muhammadi Stadium in Memon Goth, Karachi witnessed 3 games of the All-Pakistan Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Football Cup hosted by DFA Malir.

Young Boys (Malir) edged Al-Hashim FC 4-3 on penalties after a 0-0 draw. Jalal Murad FC also edged Al-Shabaz FC (Malir) 5-4 on penalties after 1-1 draw. Hunter Sports (Malir) beat Irfan Memorial (Landhi) 2-0 thanks to Imtiaz’s brace.
