The 9th PFF League 2012 (B Division) saw Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) beat Pakistan Steel 2-0 in their rescheduled Department Phase ‘Group of Five’ game held at Fame FC Ground in Model Town, Lahore yesterday.
Goals in each half from Rashid Ali (22′) and Aman Ullah (90+1′) helped SSGC boost their chances of promotion to the 2013 Pakistan Premier Football League. The match was attended by former Pakistan captain and KESC star Muhammad Essa as chief guest.
In the Club Phase ‘Group of Five’, two further games were decided at the Rai Ali Nawaz Stadium in Sahiwal. Baloch FC (Quetta) breezed past Chand FC (Layyah) while home side Young Blood FC beat Green Star FC (Okara) 3-0.
Baloch FC dominated Chand FC as a brace from Beebarg (49′, 58′), a penalty from Asghar Shah (64′) and a further goal from Abdul Waheed (90+2′) over came the opposition. Chand FC had initially taken the lead through Muhammad Zahid (12′) but failed to stop the Quetta side as Muhammad Sufian (82′) scored a consolation later in the game.
Young Blood were in good form as goals from M Naeem (27′), M Rasool (77′), and M Saqib (88′) helped them beat hapless Okara side Green Star.
