Pak U23 edge Bangladesh in Mahinda Rajapaksa Cup

Pakistan leads by securing one goal against Bangladesh’s nil in H.E. Mahinda Rajapaksa International Football Tournament in Sri Lanka today. On an excellent pass of striker Kaleem Ullah, Saeed Ahmed made a full use of it by putting the ball in the net.

According to the press release issued here by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), President PFF, Makhdoom Saeed Faisal Saleh Hayat in his massage congratulated the Pakistani team for securing the first lead in its match being played in H.E Mahinda Rajapaka International Football Tournament.

General Secretary PFF, Lt. Col. ® Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi was jubilant on the success of his team and hoped that they would continue to display this ability in the coming matches.

The first half was pressure building on both the team without securing any goal. Pakistani striker made many attempt to break the defense line of Bangladesh without any success. Similarly Bangladesh team defended very well in the first half.

However, in the second half the Pakistani team broke the defense line of Bangladesh by securing the lone winning goal for the Pakistan. This was possible by extremely team work culminated in the winning goal. Saeed Ahmed from a very well placed pass of Kaleem Ullah in 80th minute.

Pakistan will be playing its next match against Maldives on 5th December, 2012. Maldives had earlier eased past Sri Lanka 3-0 in opening game of the event.
